Position Summary:
The psychiatric/behavioral health pharmacist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to promote appropriate treatment for acute and chronic psychiatric, behavioral health and related neurologic disorders. The pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care to patients in the inpatient and ambulatory settings, in accordance with clinical guidelines, current literature, and pharmacy policies and procedures. This clinical pharmacist will collaborate with the psychiatric and behavioral health providers to ensure appropriate treatment for all inpatient and clinic settings.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Doctorate in Pharmacy or Bachelor's Degree in with three (3) or more years of pharmacy experience in pharmacy, residency included.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Pharmacist License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) or more years of related inpatient or direct psychiatric/behavioral health pharmacy experience, residency may be included
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to analyze and solve complex problems. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers, including other healthcare professionals. Ability to anticipate and take corrective action in response to market changes, including but not limited to, new to market therapies, pharmacy regulations, and prescribing patterns. Ability to maintain a credible professional image with physicians and other health care providers. Proficiency with MS products including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
