Position Summary:
The Senior Interior Designer is to oversee the implementation of the interior design for all Carle Foundation Hospital Facilities. Interior Design and Decor - Oversee the development and implementation of the system-wide interior design master plan. Function as a major resource for all departments in regards to compliance with the policy. Provide direction on system-wide facility projects relating to general renovation, interior finishes, furnishings, modular furniture, space planning and wayfinding. Provide and/or arrange for project architectural design, estimating, code compliance review, acquisition, supervision of labor (outside and in-house) and materials; periodic review of work for compliance to standards, budget, and schedule. Supports the Carle Project Managers to ensure their projects have the correct standards for finishes, furnishings, furniture, signage, art, etc. in addition to coordinating the purchase and installation of these items. Develop and maintain ergonomic standards for furniture that can be used for employees with a need.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in Interior Design or related field.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
National Council Interior Design Certification (NCIDQ) within 1 year.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years experience in design and construction. Health Care Interior design experience. Prior experience as a construction manager on multiple construction projects is preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must stay up to date with design trends and regulatory requirements in health care settings. Skills: Applies critical thinking; Demonstrate skills in converting abstract ideas into direction drawings and designs that are easily understood; has great customer service skills.
